With a nice bit of civilisation at the Snow Village

Conquering Ylläs

Requires some driving experience

Instruction

The long journey begins at Safari House, where the guide gives instruction on snowmobile driving, handling and regulations. We also change into appropriate equipment.

Off we go!

Even when you’re driving really fast, it’s always worth slowing down, when you come across some truly great scenery. And there’s certainly plenty of that to spare on this safari! We drive through snowy forests, spruce-covered bogs and over frozen lakes. Ever higher we rise until we reach the summit of Ylläs Fell.

On the journey home, we stop at Lainio Snow Village where we can have also lunch in the restaurant.  If the temperature is well below zero (and it nearly always is), you’ll be able to enjoy ice- and snow sculptures crafted by both local sculptors and some from further afield. We’ll also get a chance to get to know the Ice Hotel.

Then it’s time to set of home. You might think that, after such an ‘ice show’, your teeth will be chattering, but quite the opposite. With warm hearts, we drive our snowmobiles back to Levi at a leisurely pace.
